Our School
The Chabad Hebrew School of East County is a place where the joys, values and traditions of Judaism are brought to life. We feel it is essential that this experience represents a positive, cheerful and enjoyable chapter of your child's maturing process. The primary goal of our school is for children to be left with deeply-rooted feelings of pride and affection for their heritage. We believe that this can best be accomplished in an atmosphere of joy and warmth.

The Approach
Our focus is to show our students the beauty and deep significance of our illustrious heritage through discussions, workshops and hands-on projects. We particularly emphasize Jewish values and ethics. Mutual tolerance and respect for fellow human beings are taught as basic principles of the Jewish faith.

Philosophy
Our school is a contemporary learning center that successfully caters to Jewish families from all walks of life. Our school welcomes every Jew, regardless of religious background or level of observance. It is for this reason that our school does not require any membership or prior affiliation as a condition for enrollment.

The Atmosphere
The underlying strength of our school is on its general spirit and its sense of pride in Jewish identity, taking place in an atmosphere of joy and liveliness. Games, drama, songs, arts & crafts, family workshops, and holiday parties are blended with the curriculum to keep our students motivated and enthusiastic. We encourage a hands-on approach to learning where our students are actively involved and have such a fantastic time they look forward to returning each week.

Curriculum
Our program is designed to provide a broad understanding and appreciation of Judaic tradition and history. Areas of academic emphasis include Hebrew reading, writing and vocabulary, Jewish history, culture, prayer and current events. Parents are regularly informed of their child's progress and the lessons covered in his/her classes. Through our bi-monthly class summary we give the parents an opportunity to be involved in their child's Hebrew School experience.

Bar & Bat Mitzvah
Our goal is to prepare your child for the auspicious day of his/her Bar/Bat Mitzvah. As that day approaches he/she will be provided with private tutoring to enable him/her to feel confidant and to understand the responsibility of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
